Basic measurments for both the S10 and Mustang type T5 5 speed transmissions

When choosing the transmission for your Flathead Chrysler Product, it is important to measure and understand which transmission has the shifter in the correct location in relationship to your seat location. As you can see from the illustration, the shifter location on the S10 transmission is closer to the bellhousing than the Mustang transmission.

Also, a S10 T5 tail shaft housing will bolt right on to your Mustang world class T5 and the shifter location is 8 inches closer to the dash. The 93 and up S10 T5's are world class transmissions and are build on Ford cases.
